Due for release summer 2015

Deconstructing Zoe is an exploration of gender, race and sexuality, seen through the life and times of transgender Chinese actor Zoe.

The documentary is a vivid and intimate account of a journey of self-discovery, where gender and sexuality is not so easily defined.

Interviews are interwoven with performance from Zoe’s semi-auto biographical play “An Occasional Orchid”.  The performance pieces echo the experience of a transgendered person, who Zoe says often lives a twilight existence.

Becoming Zoe has an important message to us all; that for some gender is not fixed or binary, it is a spectrum and that at any one time gender and sexuality can be fluid.
